Our story

This year we had a little surprise. Our beautiful dog Bonnie got tangled up with our neighbor purebred german shepherd Mochi. Bonnie is a rare mix of Caucasian Shephard (also known as Russian Bear Dog) and Bernese Mountain Dog. On thanksgiving, Bonnie delivered ten puppies into the world. We set to work as good caretakers immediately. Bonnie has been a caring and attentive mother, and all of the puppies have been cared for well.

In the first three weeks, Bonnie provided all of the puppies milk. By the end of week three, the little chunks were too much for Bonnie to keep up with, so we supplemented milk with a bottle to ensure they all had adequate nutrition. Week four and five, the puppies began to enjoy puppy food soaked in milk. At the time of writing this in week six, the puppies are almost exclusively eating wet puppy food with an occasional treat from their mother.

We are now ready to find the little chunks a new home. They will have had all the proper Veterinary treatment from the Bushnell Illinois Veterinary service. Additionally, we are working hard to potty train. While we cannot guarantee the success of this mission, we are doing what we can to make them ready to learn quickly at their new home. Our priority has been to socialize and interact with the puppies as much as possible. They are all very social, fun, and sweet. They have even done well in one-on-one playtime with our Saint Bernard Walter.

We will be keeping two pups, and a third has been spoken for. The remaining seven consist of six girls and one boy. Our goal is to find the best home possible for each of the puppies.
